Samsung Tizen: Samsung I8800 Beats Near Galaxy Note 3 Benchmark; Tizen Mirrorless Camera; Tizen vs. Android 4.4 Kitkat?
[Update: More developments on the Samsung Tizen OS: Read more here.]
Samsung Tizen is very much alive and ready to kick into gear as Samsung's potentially new OS for some of its upcoming devices,
In fact, the Samsung I8800 Redwoood device has already been spotted with a 2,828 Benchmark score, which is not far from what the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 garnered at 3,041.
GSM Arena reports that this is a great progress, considering that the latter device features a very powerful and premium processor underneath. Meanwhile, the benchmarked Samsung Tizen phone only runs on the Exynos 4412.
It's good to know that, despite the likelihood that Tizen will start rolling out for the mid-range Samsung phones, it has the capability to stand up to a premium flagship phone and still perform well enough to receive a pretty high performance rate.
This is just the first of the devices that are likely to launch with the Tizen OS, as Into Mobile adds that Samsung TVs may also get the Tizen treatment. But these devices are still in progress, with no concrete dates to be revealed regarding releases in the market.

Samsung Tizen Mirrorless Camera the First, Phones and TVs to Follow
The Tizen trend for Samsung has already started, and a prototype can now be found in the Samsung NX300M smart camera. The mirrorless camera is a Tizen-powered device, though the change in innards has not yet been documented in terms of how it affects the actual functions of the phone.
But this is just the first wave of devices getting the Tizen for Samsung, as Tizen-powered phones are expected to be released come 2014, reports GigaOM. However, there are no news yet of which devices will be given the Tizen treatment--whether these are the more recent iterations of past smartphones or if Samsung will be releasing new smartphones for different markets.
Whether or not this is the start of Samsung deviating from Google's Android in the future remains to be seen but for now, the Korean company is heavily reliant on the Android OS.

Tizen, a Better Choice than Android 4.4 Kitkat?
Though most of its upcoming smart devices are predicted to run on the next Android 4.4 Kitkat, Samsung seems bent on rolling out Tizen and making it happen for the brand.

In the latest attempt to show the power of Tizen to the public, Android Beat reports that Samsung has introduced a lite version of the Tizen, which is touted to be perfectly compatible with cheaper smartphones.
Compared to the necessary 512 MB of memory that the Android 4.4 Kitkat needs, the Tizen lite can manage with as little as 256MB of RAM, but this would mostly be for mid-range to lower smartphones, as the lite OS cannot support anything higher than a 320 x 480 pixel resolution.
Still, Samsung had been reported to focus on its less expensive lines in an attempt to keep up with the growing trend among buyers. But if Tizen is meant for its less expensive phones, does this mean that Samsung devices will now be torn between Tizen and the Android 4.4 Kitkat?
