All those who have been waiting to get a Windows 10 upgrade will have to wait for some more time, as Microsoft announced on July 2, that the company will roll out Windows 10 in phases to manage the demand for its latest operating system.

To sum it up, Windows 10 will not be available for every user on its official date of release i.e. July 29. “With around four weeks to go before Windows 10 becomes available, I thought it would be helpful to provide some context on how we will roll-out Windows 10 to the world. We’ve been really pleased with the strong response to Windows 10 since we kicked off reservations in early June, with millions of reservations. We want to make sure all of you have a great upgrade experience, so we’ll roll-out Windows 10 in phases to help manage the demand,” said Terry Myerson, Microsoft's Executive Vice President of Operating Systems.

Microsoft is working to ensure that Windows 10 some of the appeal and audience it lost with Windows 8, which arrived three years ago, reports CNET. Microsoft is trying to get back on track with its OS which powers majority of personal computers. Recently, Microsoft revamped the Start button, discarded the tablet-focused interface of Windows 8 and it also got a new browser Edge that replaced the decades-old Internet Explorer, besides getting a more robust version of its voice-enabled digital software assistant, Cortana, as per the CNET report.

Microsoft is rigorously testing the quality and readiness of Windows 10 with its 5 million Windows Insiders. Myerson says, the company will provide a build of Windows 10 to its OEM partners so that they can start imaging new devices with Windows 10.

After that, Microsoft will distribute a build of Windows 10 to its retailers across the world, who can assist their customers with upgrades of newly purchased devices that were originally imaged with Windows 8.1. Users can look for a sticker that assures that the OEM partners of Microsoft have tested a device for compatibility with Windows 10.
