‘X-Men: Apocalypse' Set Photos Reveal First Look At Young Cyclops, Jean Grey And Jubilee
Fans now have their first look at some of the young stars of “X-Men: Apocalypse” in costume for their respective roles in the film. A few set of photos have been released online revealing Cyclops, Jean Grey and Jubilee.
Some behind-the-scenes photos from the set of “X-Men: Apocalypse” were shared online, giving fans their first glimpse at the young versions of Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Scott Summer a.k.a. Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Jubilee (Lana Condor). According to IGN, the photos were collated and shared online by X-Men: News on Twitter.
Lana Condor’s costume as the Jubilee in “X-Men: Apocalypse” is believed to be a direct resemblance to the mutant’s look in the comics. The actress is also wearing a yellow jacket and sunglasses on her head, the same trademark costume of Jubilee in the comics. X-Men: News shared a photo comparison and captioned the image, “1st Unofficial Look At Jubilee In X-Men: Apocalypse #XMenApocalypse #XMen @Nypopcorn2 @M101_Mutant101 @XMenSaga.”
Another set photo, initially posted by Twitter user @FrancescaY, was also shared by Comicbookmovie on its site. The image shows all four young characters, including Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), filming a scene all together. Then there’s also an up-close shot of Sophie Turner as Jean Grey.
It seems ‘X-Men: Apocalypse” will re-enact the 90’s origin story of how Jubilee was recruited by the X-Men. Twitter user @Bertonono shared another set photo showing some arcade machines set up for the film. According to Comicbookresources, the image shows the interior shot of the mall set in Montreal. The set supposedly relates to Jubilee since in the comics, the mutant was recruited by the X-Men inside an arcade shop.
Another look at Kodi Smit-McPhee as the Nightcrawler was also shared by IGN. The photo shows the young actor wearing a blue hooded jacket while his face is also covered in blue paint. A first look at the mutant was also revealed by both Bryan Singer and Kodi Smit-McPhee on social media.
The “X-Men: Apocalypse” director shared fans’ first look at Nightcrawler on his Twitter page and captioned it, “Catch him before he’s gone.” McPhee instantly shared the same image on Instagram, but both photos have since been removed from their social media page. Thankfully, Entertainment Weekly managed to grab a screenshot. A YouTube video has also been shared showing Nightcrawler seemingly teleporting on screen.
